Terms of use
Kiuas is covered by Apple’s standard licence. This page adds what you need to know about the Kiuas Pro subscription, in plain words.
These terms cover Kiuas: Contrast Therapy Log for iPhone and Apple Watch (“Kiuas”, “the app”). Kiuas is made by Michele Cantelli, an independent developer (“I”, “me”). Questions: [email protected].
The licence
Your use of Kiuas is governed by Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA): apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. I don’t add a separate licence. This page explains the subscription and a few things specific to Kiuas.
Kiuas Pro
Kiuas is free to download. Your first 2 sessions are free, with every feature. From the third one on, you need Kiuas Pro to start a new session. There is no other free trial.

Payment and renewal
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically for the same length, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Apple handles the payment. Kiuas never sees your card or your Apple Account details.
Managing and cancelling
- On your iPhone, open Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions, or in Kiuas Settings › Kiuas Pro › Manage Subscription. Both open Apple’s subscription page.
- If you cancel, Kiuas Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. It isn’t renewed after that.
- Bought Kiuas Pro before, on a new iPhone or after reinstalling? Use Settings › Kiuas Pro › Restore Purchases.
- You subscribe and restore on the iPhone. The Apple Watch picks up your subscription by itself.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple, under Apple’s rules. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. I can’t issue refunds myself.
Without a subscription
If you never subscribe, or your subscription ends, you can’t start a new session after the free ones. Everything else stays available:
- your history, summaries and corrections;
- export, and your workouts in Apple Health;
- settings;
- recovering a session that was left open.
A session in progress is never interrupted, even if your subscription ends during it.
The count of free sessions is kept on your iPhone. It doesn’t go down if you delete sessions or reinstall the app.
Not a medical device
Kiuas is a log and a timer. It is not a medical device and doesn’t diagnose, treat or prevent anything. Its heart rate alerts are a help, not a guarantee: they can be late or wrong. If you have heart or blood pressure problems, are pregnant or take medication, ask your doctor before sauna and cold water. If you feel unwell, get out and ask for help.
Privacy
Kiuas has no account and no server. What the app reads, writes and keeps is described in the privacy policy.
Changes
If these terms change, this page changes first, with a new effective date at the top. Changes to the subscription never apply to a period you have already paid for.
